We are excited to share that Health EDventure won the Friend of CTE (Career and Technical Education) Award from the South Dakota Association for CTE (SDACTE) last week at their annual awards banquet!
The provides leadership and assistance to educators in developing a prepared and competitive workforce. The South Dakota Friend of CTE award is designed to recognize the contributions and accomplishments of persons, businesses and organizations who have been identified with the work and purposes of the SDACTE. The “Friend of Career and Technical Education” is a way that the South Dakota Association provides recognition for the commitment and dedication to career and technical education.
Julia Miller and Stephanie Terwilliger accepted the award on behalf of Health EDventure. is a comprehensive curriculum website that focuses on teaching healthy habits and lifestyles. Since 2006 when it was founded, Health EDventure has worked with over 57,000 teachers and students in the state of South Dakota and is !

They have worked diligently thru the years to provide high quality materials to help teachers meet standards in the classroom. We are looking forward to continual improvement of the programs like this year’s addition of Common Core standards. Health EDventure programs include:
- Healthy KidZ Club – An opportunity for kindergarten through third grade students to practice healthy habits while participating in a club atmosphere in the classroom.
- South Dakota Road Trip – A virtual tour of South Dakota where students learn town and state history, practice map building and creative writing and learn healthy habits.
